The horse has been tamed by man since ancient times. The creation of the necessary breeds of horses continues to this day, despite the total mechanization. Most often, animals are used in sports competitions or to transport goods on small farms. For both purposes, the Trakehner horse breed is suitable.

History of the creation of the breed

The Trakehner horse was received by breeders in the middle of the 18th century. It was designed for horseback riding and team work. The need to have cavalry at that time forced Frederick, the king of Prussia, to breed the right breed of horses. To breed horses, breeders used purebred horse breeds that existed at that time. The experiment was a success, and after a few years the Trakehner horse was bred in all parts of Germany.

Traken history continued in other countries. They served as the basis for the creation of other horses. Beginning in 1855, work began in Estonia on the Tori horse breed, which were bred by mixing Prussian, English and local species. The experiments were crowned with success, and by 1914 horses suitable for agricultural work were obtained.

Characteristics of horses

In these animals, the color (color) is bay, red or black, although gray specimens are also found. They have a powerful body (which is medium in size) and a fairly wide chest.

Due to the use of these horses in sports competitions, the cost of an individual individual can be quite expensive. Therefore, proper animal care is very important.

Horses should be washed once every 7 days, and the liquid (water) should be at a temperature of 18-20 ° C. A little salt is injected into it.

To create a shiny mane and a beautiful coat in an animal, you need to use horse shampoo or special soap.

Important! To prevent the horse from rearing, it is forbidden to pour water on the ears and head.

After bathing, the horse must be wiped dry. If this is not done, then the animal will get sick.

It is recommended to clean the stable 1-2 times a month so that parasites do not start in it. Horses are walked in small groups of 4-5 animals. They are periodically combed out and shod.

Once a month, all horses must undergo a preventive examination by a veterinarian. If a sick horse is found, it must be isolated in a separate stall so that the disease does not spread to other animals.

For the horse's digestive tract to function properly, it is recommended to feed him from time to time.

The container used for feeding must be treated with warm water with potassium permanganate.

The water for the horses needs to be changed almost daily. It is prohibited to take a horse out for a walk immediately after a meal. This should be done after 30 minutes. after eating.
