The first truly warm sun provokes in gardeners a frantic desire to quickly go to the garden and start work. But few people know that there are such events on the site, which later turn out to be useless.

Gardening is a set of specific tasks that a gardener undertakes from year to year. But, the good thing is, people's knowledge is rapidly increasing and a new vision appears regarding some work. Here are just some of the mistakes that gardeners often make:

Trampling snow

In the spring, many people, hoping to protect the roots of plants from frost, try to tamp the snow. This is strongly discouraged. Since it turns into an ice crust, which then cannot melt at all for a long time. Consequently, the buds on the trees are already blooming, but the roots do not receive nutrition and light.

Whitewash

Coating the trunks and branches of trees with whitewashing is not done to scare off pests, as many think, but to protect them from sunlight and burns. This must be done before March, if the deadline is missed, then it is better not to waste time on this.

Removing the covering material

The spring sun is actually a very deceiving phenomenon. Sometimes people are in a hurry to remove shelter from bushes and plants, forgetting, for example, about frequent night frosts.

Early processing

All gardeners know that treatment against pests must be carried out before the first buds open. This should be done when the earth has already warmed up enough. If the processing is carried out even during frost, then this will not end well.

Fertilizers

Someone prefers to scatter ash or humus directly on the unmelted snow. This is not worth doing, because this will only contribute to a long descent of the ice crust. Also, no one is protected from the fact that the fertilizer will simply leak out later.

Clearing branches from snow

It is believed that shaking off snow from branches will lead to a good harvest. No, this will only lead to injury to the tree.

Burning grass

Many begin their summer cottage season by burning old grass and mulch. This leads not only to the removal of natural debris, it also kills many beneficial insects and literally spoils the soil. The ground at the site of the fire is likely to remain barren.

Saplings

Preparing for the summer cottage, people buy seedlings with already blossoming leaves. On the one hand, this indicates that the plant is alive. On the other hand, the growing season does not tolerate open roots. Such a plant will most likely not survive outdoors.

Loads

The summer season usually opens closer to the month of May, so people try to complete a huge amount of work over the weekend. The main thing here is not to overdo it, because in this way you can easily harm your health.

Planting seedlings

When buying ready-made seedlings, you need to remember that they cannot be with an open root system for a long time. Planting in open ground should be done immediately. In case of suspected frost, you must remember to cover the plants.
