For every gardener, May is certainly associated with planting potatoes. Many every year try to come up with new methods of planting it in order to collect as much good harvest as possible.

Shovel landing

The easiest way is to plant potatoes in holes made with a shovel and filled with humus. The secret of the method lies in the correct planting time - the soil must warm up by at least eight degrees Celsius.

Planting in straw

Another elementary method is to plant potatoes in holes and cover them with straw. The latter helps to maintain a certain level of moisture and light transmission.

Film landing

The soil is cultivated, then covered with a dark woven cloth, or with a film. Further, holes are made in it, where the tubers are actually planted. The non-woven fabric is also good at regulating the light transmission and temperature of the soil itself, where the crop grows.

Landing in bags

The beauty of this method lies in its simplicity and portability. This is especially true in those areas where there is a restriction on the area. If necessary, bags of planted potatoes can be transported.

Pit landing

The essence of this method lies in the fact that potato tubers are buried in specially prepared holes. As strange as this method sounds, it actually works well.

Ridge landing

This type of potato planting came from Holland, because it is very popular there. Among other things, a crop planted in this way always gives good results. In this case, the bed will have the shape of ridges-elevations, where the potatoes are planted.

Landing against the wall

The main thing here is to choose the southern parts of the walls of the house or any other building and plant potatoes there. To improve the result, it is better to season the soil with compost.

Landing in the mounds

The method is similar to the previous one, just here they use not the walls of the house, but specially organized circles along which potatoes are planted.

Planting in a container

This method refers to eco-gardens, where special containers are organized, for example, from plywood or any other material.

Planting in barrels

Also quite an interesting option for planting potato tubers. So, with a favorable outcome, from one standard metal barrel, you can collect up to four buckets of harvest.

Mittlider landing

In fact, these are the same ridges (Dutch technique), only directed from north to south.

Landing from north to south

Many experienced gardeners have found that potatoes grow better when the holes are placed in strict alignment with the cardinal directions. Significantly more crops can be harvested when planting crops from north to south.
