With the onset of spring, city dwellers rushed to their summer cottages. What could be better than outdoor recreation. And you will breathe fresh air, you will have a rest from the bustle of the city, and physical labor is beneficial to the body.

However, garden work not only trains muscles, saturates the cardiovascular system with oxygen, but contributes to the exacerbation or acquisition of many diseases.

Hemorrhagic fever

First of all, after a long winter, the summer resident takes up putting things in order in his garden house, not suspecting that an unpleasant virus associated with the vital activity of rodents can await him here.

It enters the body together with dust, with food, to which the mice had access, through dry grass in which the mice lived, and dirty hands. Many people confuse this disease with the common cold. In fact, everything is much more serious.

The virus manifests itself in renal failure, high temperature at 40 degrees, rash and redness in the face, chest, neck. The vessels and the genitourinary system are most affected.

Traumatism

Injuries in the garden are not uncommon. You can get a burn of the skin or mucous membrane of the respiratory tract during the cultivation of pesticides, spraying them with harmful insects.

Pruning trees can lead to soft tissue injury due to bruises, squeezing, stretching. During a fall, fractures of the bones of the arms, legs, and spine are not uncommon.

Any chemical burn should be immediately washed off with plenty of water and treated with an antiseptic. A bandage is applied to sprains and dislocations, fractures are fixed with a splint made of any available materials before the arrival of doctors.

Osteochondrosis

From prolonged work in one position or frequent flexion and extension, the cartilaginous surfaces of the bones can become inflamed. The musculoskeletal system especially often suffers when lifting heavy loads or when jerking.

Most often, osteochondrosis affects the lumbar spine, cervical and thoracic. Lumbar osteochondrosis manifests itself as dull pain in the legs and lumbar region. The pain intensifies during sudden movements, leading to numbness of the limbs.

Osteochondrosis of the thoracic region is often confused with pain in the heart. Cervical osteochondrosis is associated with pain in the shoulder joints, numbness in the hands, headaches, and even loss of consciousness.

Joints

Most gardening is done while squatting. At the same time, knee joints suffer from intense stress. Their mobility is limited, inflammatory processes develop. Even a simple crunch in the joints indicates the development of such a disease as arthrosis.

Sun damage

If you do not protect your skin from the scorching sun while working in the garden and vegetable garden, you can get sunburn, which, together with radiation, can contribute to the development of skin cancer. UVB rays cause damage to the structure of DNA cells. UV radiation contributes to the rapid aging of the skin, the loss of its elasticity.

Colds

Often in the summer you can catch a respiratory illness simply by sweating while working, and then sitting down, relaxing in the shade in a draft or washing yourself with cold water. Many people enjoy drinking kvask or stewed fruit from the refrigerator in the heat, not thinking about the fact that they can get sore throat.

Problems with heart

Most often, people with heart disease suffer from heat. Even in healthy people in summer, in hot weather, the pulse quickens, shortness of breath and dizziness appear. The cores have a great load on the heart and blood vessels. Hypertensive patients have frequent cases of angina attacks.

Gastrointestinal tract

Unsanitary conditions, dirty hands, unwashed vegetables and fruits can lead to indigestion and dysentery. Any perishable food can cause poisoning. It is better to boil water from wells.

To avoid all these troubles, you need to work to the best of your ability, do not overexert yourself, wear protective clothing, relax in a shaded place in the very heat and drink 2 liters of clean water a day, if you don't even want to.
