Seasoned gardeners are familiar with Bordeaux liquid, as it is one of the best products that is actively used to protect plants fromdiseases and various types of fungal infections. BOrdo liquid is a mixture of two components: a solution of copper sulfate and the so-called milk of lime.

Preparation of the composition

Today, on the shelves of specialized stores, you can find 100 and 300 gram packs of copper sulphate, from which 1% and 3% is a useful product ready for use.

How to prepare a 3% solution

In a plastic container, you need to dissolve 300 grams of copper sulfate. Two liters of hot water will be enough for this. In another similar container, it is necessary to dilute 300-400 grams of lime. Further, each of the components is brought with water to a volume of 5 liters. The lime composition must be filtered, and then a solution of copper sulfate is poured into it. The color of the composition should be pale blue.

Next, using litmus paper, you need to check the pH of the finished product - it should be either neutral or slightly alkaline. To prepare Bordeaux liquid, use only an enamel, plastic or glass container.

How to prepare a 1% solution

You need to act by analogy with the previous method, only a 100 gram pack of copper sulfate is taken and all the components are diluted in one liter of water.

How to use the tool

In the spring, all plants that are susceptible to fungal infections need to be treated with 3% composition, in other periods - 1%.

In specialized stores, you can buy ready-to-use Bordeaux mixture. The gardener will only have to dilute the composition of the packaging to the desired consistency.
