Cucumbers have long become a common thing in summer cottages. And these plants, like many others, are susceptible to various diseases and other unpleasant things. However, there is always a solution for any problem. What can happen to cucumbers and how can you help them?
Signs indicating that cucumbers need fertilization
Sometimes it happens that there is not enough nitrogen for cucumbers. They signal this with the following signs: pale yellowish leaves, fragile whips, slowed growth, small leaves, lack of flowers.
A good nitrogen fertilizer for cucumbers is regular ammonia, which is sold at the pharmacy. For spraying seedlings and young plants, use 20 ml of alcohol per 10 liters of water. With a pronounced nitrogen deficiency in an adult plant, 120 ml per 10 liters is used. Cucumbers are fed once a week.
Disease treatment
In greenhouses, different diseases often stick to cucumbers: fungi, viruses, bacteria. Ammonium is used both for treatment and prophylaxis.
For treatment, 50 ml of alcohol is dissolved in 10 liters of water. Severely damaged parts of the plant are removed. The plant is sprayed and the soil is watered with a solution. Such processing is carried out 2 times a month.
Pest control
Salmon is good for aphids, spider mites and whiteflies. These pests are afraid of the pungent smell of this product like fire, and run headlong from the site.
To get rid of pests, 10 ml of alcohol and a spoonful of liquid soap are diluted in 10 liters of water. With this solution, you can spray the plants and additionally wipe the leaves with it.
Processing should be carried out on days when there is no sun and wind. If necessary, you can hold it on a sunny day, but only early in the morning or late in the evening, again, there should be no wind.
Benefits of using ammonia
Fertilization with ammonia has undeniable advantages. This drug is widely available and can be bought at any pharmacy for little money. Also, such fertilizer is not dangerous, it does not accumulate in plants, after collecting them it will be enough to rinse them well. It is very difficult to overfeed cucumbers with such fertilizers, because they themselves regulate the flow of nitrogen. Salmon does not spoil the chemical composition of the soil and does not adversely affect animals and birds living on the site.
Despite all the advantages of using this tool, you should always take care of your own safety. Spraying in greenhouses should be carried out in a protective suit, goggles and a mask, and doors and windows should be open.
