Many plants can only be planted through seedlings. Therefore, gardeners ask themselves: where to get land for her? You can, of course, buy it in a store, it is inexpensive, but there will be no confidence in the quality. It is better to do it yourself, it will take time, but there will be confidence that the plants in such soil will be fine.

Soil from the forest

Land taken from a deciduous forest is not bad. A coniferous forest is not suitable, since the soil in it is very acidic, many plants do not like such soil. It is necessary to take the land near healthy and strong trees, where it is the best. You should not take land near chestnut, oak and willow, such soil will contain tannins.

Soil from the garden

This option is used by many gardeners. It is good because plants do not have to get used to a different type of soil during transplantation. It should be free of fresh manure, fresh sawdust, worms and weed residues. Good soil is obtained after planting legumes. After cucumbers and potatoes will not work.

The soil must be disinfected without fail. This can be done by steaming, for example. For those who do not want to bother, you can simply leave the ground to freeze on the balcony. This will kill all bacteria.

Homemade soil mixture

For self-preparation of land for planting seedlings, it is necessary to take the soil from the garden and forest, humus, compost, sand in equal parts. Be sure to add some ash to the ready-made mixture. Clay in such a mixture should be absent, worms and all kinds of larvae too. Such living creatures can ruin the entire landing and bring all the painstaking work to nothing. The land must be environmentally friendly, without harmful impurities. In consistency, it should be soft, friable and crumbly. Water and air should be able to penetrate it easily. Such a soil mixture will give guaranteed strong good seedlings from which strong and beautiful plants will turn out in the future. An important point is the mandatory disinfection with cold or other means.

Purchased soil

If, for some reason, there is no way to make the soil yourself, then you can buy it. The only condition is that it should be bought in a good proven store. In a product of poor quality, seeds may not germinate, it will be very offensive. This type of soil can help out great if, for example, there was not enough of its own.
