The peculiarity of spring garlic is that it is planted in spring and harvested in summer. This is usually the beginning of September or the last days of August, depending on the climate of the region.

Properties of spring varieties

They don't have arrows. The only variety with arrows is Gulliver. Also, the bulbs are smaller in size than winter garlic. The yield is not as large as that of winter varieties. But spring garlic can be stored for up to a year, while remaining sharp.

Summer varieties of garlic contain more vitamins and nutrients. For planting, not arrows are used, since there are none, but cloves. There are a lot of them, so there are no problems with landing.

It is recommended to plant a new species after 3-4 years.

In the middle lane

In the central zone, in the Volga region and in some southern regions, early garlic is planted. It ripens quickly in a fairly short summer and becomes spicy.

Here are some types:

"Ershovsky" - suitable for private summer cottages. The number of cloves up to 25 pieces. The husk is grayish. Inside, the slices are creamy, juicy. They have a semi-sharp taste.
"Moskovsky" - the upper part is green. The number of lobules in the head is about 12 pieces. Not susceptible to disease. Semi-sharp.
