The land owner has the right to dispose of the land owned by him as he wants. However, there are some actions, the consequences of which must be foreseen in order not to end up in the abyss of litigation later. For example, planting trees on the site is not as easy as it might seem at first glance.

Why is it important to follow the rules of planting trees

Before planting trees on your site, the summer resident needs to familiarize himself with the rules for planting them. In particular, it is very important to consider the distance at which the seedlings should be from the fence.

The rules are based on the requirements of the sanitary and fire services

So tall trees can damage the foundation of the house with their roots, which threatens the destruction of the house itself or significant damage to it, which will require significant financial expenses. Also at risk of water supply systems, because some have very strong and large roots and can interfere with the normal growth of other plants, since their crowns can cast a shadow, and become a source of other troubles both for the owner of the area on which they grow, and for neighboring plots. In the end, lightning can strike a large tree and, if it is close to anything, the fire will easily spread. Or a violent storm could knock the trunk onto buildings or a neighboring property.

Planted too close to the house can interfere with the access of firefighters in an emergency.

Planting tall trees near wires is unacceptable, as they can be damaged in the event of a hurricane.

The location of underground utilities should also be taken into account, a powerful root system can also damage them.

General requirements for distances from the fence

Tall trees (more than 15 meters high) are planted 4 meters from the neighboring fence.

The distance from the fence of medium height (no higher than 10 meters) must be at least 2 meters.

Bushes, dwarf fruit plantations and other low-growing plants can be planted at a distance of 1 meter from neighbors.

Distances to other buildings and structures

The walls of a house or other structure should be 5 meters away.

Garden paths - at least one and a half meters.

Communication facilities (pipes, drainage) require a distance of at least 2 meters.

Gas supply and sewerage must be at least 1.5 meters away.

Lighting poles should be 4 meters apart.

Roads - 1.5 meters.

Power cables - 2 meters.

The trees themselves should be planted at a distance of 2 - 2.5 meters from one another. This arrangement will allow them to grow and develop harmoniously. The yield depends on the observance of these distances, if they are fruit, and the quality of their growth.

Observing these rules, you can ensure the safety of your site, as well as the site of your neighbors, and not worry about the health of the planted trees and the safety of family and friends.
