Growing plants in a summer cottage will be much more productive and easier if you do not use the same bed for one crop from year to year, but alternate planting.

What to plant after onions

Onions can be found in almost every country house. It is added to a variety of dishes and salads and is very healthy. This root vegetable makes the soil slightly alkaline, and this must be taken into account, since not all plants like such soil.

After onions, strawberries, herbs, peppers, cucumbers and eggplants grow well. Carrots grow well both next to the onion and in the garden after it.

To give the land a rest and recover, you can plant siderata in a former onion garden - plants grown for the purpose of later laying them in the soil. These include: oats, mustard, rye, lupine, alfalfa.

What should not be planted

You shouldn't plant onions in the same garden for two years in a row. Also, garlic cannot be planted in this garden, although they grow beautifully in the neighborhood. Cabbage can be planted only after the land is cleared of diseases and pests, and for this it must be sown, for example, with mustard.

What to plant after garlic

Garlic is a fairly popular crop among many summer residents. It is incredibly beneficial as it has antimicrobial properties and contains a huge amount of important micronutrients. In addition, it is loved for its pronounced taste and is added to many dishes.

The most ideal option is to alternate planting garlic and cucumbers in the same bed. From year to year you can change their places and get a good harvest as a result.

Also, if there is a lot of space in the country, then you can plant siderates after garlic to enrich the soil. It is enough to grow them for one year, and then you can plant something new.

Immediately after the garlic, various greens take root in the soil, for example, lettuce or spinach. Potatoes and tomatoes will also feel good in such an area.

What should not be planted

Of course, there is no categorical prohibition on planting any crops after garlic, but if the summer resident wants to get an excellent harvest, then it is better to follow the planting sequence.

You should not plant garlic in the same place for two years in a row. Onions are also expected to have a poor harvest. They will certainly grow, but their quality will be deplorable.

Planting cabbage will also not be the best solution, it will take root badly.
